கோவில் சுருக்கம்
Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha is one of India’s great Vaishnava pilgrimage temples and a central institution of Jagannath devotion. Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath is worshipped together with Devi Subhadra and Mahaprabhu Balabhadra. Odisha government sources identify Puri as one of the four traditional Dhams and describe the present temple as a major twelfth-century monument of the Ganga dynasty. The shrine is renowned for its monumental Kalinga architecture, ritual culture, Mahaprasad traditions and annual Rath Yatra.
வரலாறு
Government of Odisha and Puri district sources associate the present temple with the Ganga dynasty and King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva in the twelfth century. The complex received architectural and ritual additions in later centuries. Its importance also grew through the wider Jagannath tradition and the presence of major saints and philosophical lineages in Puri. Darshn presents this documentary chronology separately from sacred narratives belonging to the devotional tradition of Purushottama Kshetra.
புனித மரபு
The living sacred identity of Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri centres on Vishnu and the Jagannath/Vaishnava tradition. Sacred narratives, local belief and theological interpretation must remain distinct from documentary history.
