How to reach Nashik–Trimbakeshwar
By rail
Nashik Road railway station is the principal rail gateway for Nashik city. It is not beside Ramkund or the Trimbakeshwar temple, so allow time for onward road transport. Confirm your train's actual station and arrival time before booking a local transfer.
By air
Nashik's Ozar airport serves the region, with flight availability dependent on the operating schedule. Mumbai airport is another option for travellers who prefer a wider range of connections, followed by a substantial road or rail journey. Check current flight operations before making plans.
By road
Nashik connects to Mumbai and other Maharashtra cities by major roads. Trimbakeshwar is a separate town to the west of Nashik, reached by road. Kumbh-period diversions, vehicle restrictions and parking arrangements may change the usual journey.
Local transport and reaching the ghats
Ramkund is in Nashik's Panchavati area, while Kushavarta Kund is at Trimbakeshwar. Plan them as two separate visits. Use verified local transport operators and check where vehicles may legally stop. Festival arrangements may require a longer walk from a designated drop-off or parking area.
Do not assume a shuttle service, route number or temporary parking location will operate until the authorities publish an official 2027 plan.
Read the sacred ghats and rituals guide for the differences between the main bathing sites.
Where to stay
Nashik city
A base in Nashik may suit pilgrims prioritising Ramkund, Panchavati and city facilities. Confirm the actual distance from your accommodation to your intended ghat, not simply the listing's distance to Nashik city centre.
Trimbakeshwar
Staying in or near Trimbakeshwar may suit pilgrims focused on Kushavarta Kund and Trimbakeshwar temple. Availability and vehicle access can be particularly constrained around major observances.
Book through a verified provider, obtain written confirmation, check cancellation terms and avoid sending advances to unverified contacts. This guide does not list live room availability or official camp allocations.
Travel-day checklist and safety
- Confirm the latest bathing-day schedule, local transport restrictions and permitted ghat entrances with the relevant administration.
- Keep identification, essential medication, drinking water and emergency contacts accessible.
- Travel with light luggage, wear suitable walking footwear and arrange a group meeting point.
- Follow on-site police and volunteer instructions; avoid barriers, restricted processions and unsafe river entry.
- Keep flexible time for delays, and avoid tight onward train or flight connections on major bathing days.
Check the dedicated bathing-dates guide for currently published dates and their confirmation status.
Temporary 2027 shuttle routes, parking locations, entry restrictions, medical facilities and accommodation allocations are not confirmed here. Check official local notices before departure.
Official notices before you travel
Check Nashik Divisional Commissioner notices for government updates. Check local administration and transport operators for any published Kumbh-period access, parking or service changes.
